PICK OF THE DAY

GREY'S ANATOMY

M-NET

Before I have Grey's enthusiasts baying for my blood, permit me to point out that no, I have not lost the plot and dared to diminish the medical drama to an awkward late-afternoon slot. It's a repeat, people.

After a rather tremulous start to the new season (George died. Everyone was sad. We get it), things are finally beginning to take on the riveting turn we've come to associate with this award-winning series.

After placing the blame for his wife's death (aka Lexie's mom) squarely on Meredith's shoulders and pretty much equating her to sludge under his shoe, papa Thatcher makes an unexpected appearance at the hospital. Only on this occasion, he's in the patient's seat. Or bed, rather.

Following a staggering booze-fuelled stint off the rails, daddy dearest is in immediate need of a liver transplant. But his alcoholic status doesn't exactly merit his name being pushed to the top of the donor list, so it's up to one of the Grey sisters to save the day.

SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT SABC3

The recent arrest of Sheryl Cwele (wife of Minister of State Security, Siyabonga Cwele) has once again underscored the scourge of cross-continental narcotics trafficking - which, as Cwele's apprehension proves, often involves high-powered personalities.

In light of this latest development, Special Assignment revisits the case of drug mule, Thando Pendu, who was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment by a Thai court after being caught attempting to transport heroin from Bangkok to China.

You'd think a life lived in the lap of luxury, with a contingent of gofers on hand to attend to your every whim and enough money in the bank to fly off to an exotic destination at a moment's notice, would leave a person blissfully content.

But, apparently, having all that the rest of the population could ever wish for isn't enough to ward off the depression, anxiety and general frustration that comes with an existence spent under the showbiz spotlight.

Just ask Britney Spears.

Robin Williams is at his improvisational, hilarious best in this heart-warming comedy drama.

The tale tells of a, shall we say, adult-stunted dad Daniel, who resorts to extreme measures in order to continue seeing his much-loved kids. This, when his wife Miranda (Sally Field) decides to pull the plug on their marriage.

Despite his desperate pleas to be allowed to tend to his children after school, Miranda refuses, citing Dan's irresponsible streak.

So what's a man to do but dress up as an elderly female nanny in order to sneak into his own former home?
